SUMMARY:Author Reading\: Gail E. Myers reads from A Miracle Every March
DESCRIPTION:
Isolated\, impoverished\, primitive mountain village of La Vista called them “miracles.” For seven years on the first of March some villager suffered tragedy. A terrible misfortune -- softened for a victim only by neighbors’ caring compassion – it created miraculous beans-and-corn prosperity for a year in normally starving La Vista.

Another Miracle time is approaching. A young man rides down the mountain and announces to village leaders he’s a teacher\, ordered by the government’s anti-illiteracy campaign to start a school in La Vista. He’s exiled there for leading student riots\, and wants only to go back to college. He's confused as villagers ask him “How can we eat reading and writing?”
